Addis Ababa — President Taye Atske-Selassie has praised the steadily strengthening multisectoral partnership between Ethiopia and Kenya, describing the relationship as one that has “flourished remarkably” in recent years.
The President made the remarks while officially bidding farewell to Kenya’s outgoing Ambassador to Ethiopia, George Orina, whose diplomatic tenure is coming to an end.
According to President Taye, the two neighboring countries have demonstrated an “impressive upward trajectory” across key sectors — including trade, security cooperation, infrastructure, and regional integration efforts under IGAD and the African Union.
He commended Ambassador Orina for his role in deepening bilateral ties and facilitating high-level engagements that have reinforced the longstanding friendship between the Ethiopian and Kenyan peoples.
Ambassador Orina, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Ethiopian government for its support throughout his tenure, emphasizing that Ethiopia–Kenya relations will continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
