Bale Zone, Oromia Region — Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed underscored Ethiopia’s immense natural wealth and development potential during his recent visit to Bale Zone, where he toured various sites with local leaders and officials.
The final destination of the visit was the breathtaking Fincha Habera Waterfall, where the Prime Minister emphasized that Ethiopia is abundantly endowed with resources sufficient for all its people.
The stunning Fincha Habera Waterfall, which flows gracefully into the Web River and connects to the Sof Umar Cave system, is located in one of Ethiopia’s most spectacular natural landscapes. The area is also home to the Ethiopian Red Wolf, one of the world’s rarest canids, and serves as a major bird sanctuary. Nearby, the recently discovered cave formation and the lush Harenna Forest add to the region’s ecological and tourism significance.
A new lodge currently under construction in the area is expected to further boost tourism by providing visitors with improved comfort and accessibility.
Over the past three days, both current and former officials who participated in the visit expressed admiration for the region’s natural, cultural, and human potential. The visit inspired renewed commitment to preserving, showcasing, and sustainably developing Ethiopia’s rich heritage and natural resources.
Prime Minister Abiy reiterated that the collective mission is to uncover, nurture, and enhance Ethiopia’s shared wealth, ensuring that the next generation continues to build on this legacy.
“Ethiopia is indeed a land of abundant resources,” said Dr. Abiy. “Let us gather together, build together, and shape our shared prosperity.”
