Jubaland Youth Association in Banadir Declares Support for Jubaland Government,

Mogadishu (HornCurrent) – The Jubaland Youth Association in Banadir Region has announced its firm support for the Jubaland administration while strongly opposing what it described as “destructive actions” carried out by the group allied to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in the Gedo region.

In a press statement, the youth association emphasized that Jubaland’s government, led by President Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe), represents the legitimate authority of the state and enjoys broad grassroots support. The association accused Hassan Sheikh’s group of fueling instability in Gedo, undermining local governance, and threatening the peace and unity of Jubaland.

“We stand firmly with the people and government of Jubaland. Attempts to destabilize Gedo region are against the interests of the Somali people and only serve to divide communities,” the statement read.

The association further urged the Federal Government of Somalia to respect the federal constitution and uphold the rights of regional member states, warning that continued political interference in Jubaland’s internal affairs could escalate tensions and undermine the country’s fragile stability.
