Ethiopia–Saudi Arabia Business Forum Held in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, November 18, 2025 (HornCurrent) — A high-level Ethiopia–Saudi Arabia Business Forum was held in Addis Ababa aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and opening new avenues for partnership.

The forum brought together senior government officials, diplomats, and business communities from both Ethiopia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ethiopia’s State Minister for Trade and Regional Integration, Deta Abdulhakim Mulu, emphasized that economic cooperation between the two countries must be elevated to a higher level. He noted that the newly established Ethiopia–Saudi Arabia Business Council is expected to play a crucial role in deepening bilateral economic relations.

The forum called on Saudi investors to expand their participation in Ethiopia’s key sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, technology, industry, and tourism.

Ambassador Gewano Kedir, Director General for Asia, the Middle East, and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the platform offers an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation and identify new areas of partnership between the two nations.

Saudi Embassy Affairs Officer in Ethiopia, Salih Almogbi, stated that the forum demonstrates Saudi investors’ growing interest in exploring Ethiopia’s investment opportunities.

Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador (Dr.) Muktar Kedir, highlighted that Ethiopia’s ongoing broad economic reforms have created favorable investment conditions. He encouraged Saudi investors to take advantage of the expanding opportunities in the country.

During the forum, officials from the Ethiopian Investment Commission and various sectoral associations delivered presentations on investment potential and areas open for cooperation.
