Addis Ababa, September 23, 2025 – Ethiopia’s federal security institutions are working with strengthened preparedness and coordination to uphold the rule of law by monitoring and containing extremist and subversive groups that threaten the nation’s lasting peace and stability, according to Federal Police Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael.
The Commissioner made the remarks during a consultative discussion held at the Federal Police Headquarters with other national security and safety institutions as part of the country’s integrated security plan.
He explained that through coordinated operations, several anti-peace elements have already been brought under control. Security institutions, he noted, are operating with enhanced organization and readiness to prevent any disruption of the nation’s long-term peace and security.
General Demelash further emphasized that law enforcement activities will continue to be strengthened to ensure that upcoming major religious and public holidays are celebrated peacefully without any security challenges.
According to the Commissioner, the integrated national security plan focuses on technology-supported, intelligence-based operations that actively engage community participation. The orientation ensures that security institutions across all regions of the country work in harmony to guarantee lasting stability and protect public safety.
