South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his deep condolences following the untimely passing of celebrated journalist, political commentator, and broadcaster Tshidi Madia.
In a heartfelt message, President Ramaphosa said his thoughts are with Madia’s family, friends, and colleagues as they mourn the loss of a woman who was “taken in the prime of her life.”
“Tshidi loved our country and this was the backdrop to her tough questions and her hopeful vision of a South Africa that can and should be better,” the President said.
He described her as a remarkable citizen and thought leader, whose sharp voice and fearless pen gave hope to many. Ramaphosa emphasized that her death, occurring during Women’s Month, underscores her stature as an outstanding woman who embodied courage and vision.
“We shall continue to work for Tshidi’s South Africa with her now silent pen and voice in our memories and hearts. May her soul rest in peace,” he concluded.
Madia, a respected media personality and political moderator, leaves behind a legacy of dedication to truth and a vision for a better South Africa.
