Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Hawassa District Awards Export Trade Customers

Hawassa, Ethiopia – The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) Hawassa District and its Hawassa Industrial Park Branch have recognized and awarded customers engaged in export trade within the Hawassa Industrial Park. The recognition highlighted the critical role of these customers in driving the bank’s outstanding performance over the past fiscal year.

The Hawassa Industrial Park Branch, located in the city’s special economic zone, registered high performance in 2024/25, ranking second among CBE branches nationwide. In light of this achievement, the district and branch honored their top-performing customers, acknowledging their significant contribution to Ethiopia’s foreign exchange earnings.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Weyesa Tilahun, Director of CBE’s Hawassa District, emphasized that recognizing and honoring partners has long been a tradition of the bank. He added that the district is committed to strengthening relationships with its customers and ensuring continued success through close collaboration.

Similarly, Mrs. Hapi Haile, Manager of the Hawassa Industrial Park Branch, stated that the branch’s success was the result of dedicated staff service delivery, coordinated teamwork, and the bank’s institutional commitment. She noted that recognizing export trade customers will further reinforce trust and strengthen future cooperation.

Award recipients expressed their gratitude to the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and reaffirmed their readiness to deepen collaboration and continue contributing to the country’s economy.

CBE confirmed that customers in Hawassa Industrial Park played a major role in foreign currency generation during the 2024/25 budget year through their export trade activities.
