HornCurrent News Desk – Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, confirmed that the Israeli military carried out fresh airstrikes in Yemen targeting multiple strategic locations.
According to the announcement, the strikes hit the Yemeni presidential palace in Sana’a, power stations in Asar and Hejaz, as well as fuel storage facilities said to be serving both domestic and military purposes.
Israel’s Kan TV reported that 14 fighter jets took part in the operation, dropping nearly 40 bombs on the designated sites.
One of the major sites struck was a petroleum company’s fuel depot in Sana’a, which is under the control of Houthi forces. Local sources told international media that the attack caused casualties, although the exact number of deaths has not yet been confirmed.
Emergency and civil defense teams in Sana’a were seen battling flames and working to contain damage following the strikes, according to Yemen’s Civil Defense Authority.
This comes months after Israel had previously targeted Yemen’s main airport, escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Houthi-aligned forces.
