10th African Civil Service Conference Concludes in Addis Ababa, Africa’s Rising Hub for Continental Dialogue

Addis Ababa – June 23, 2025

The 10th African Civil Service Conference, held over the past three days in Addis Ababa, officially concluded today. The conference further affirmed the Ethiopian capital’s growing reputation as Africa’s leading venue for continental and international dialogue.

In a message posted on his official Facebook account, H.E. Adem Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party, highlighted the significance of the conference and Ethiopia’s civil service reform efforts. He noted that the reform program aims to strengthen institutional capacity and ensure the delivery of efficient, citizen-centered public services. Rooted in homegrown values, the reform is aligned with both the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A central pillar of this reform is the Modern Ethiopia Services for Organized Benefits (MESOB) initiative—a one-stop public service center expanding into regional cities. According to Vice President Adem Farah, participants from across the continent recognized MESOB as a transformative model, offering a replicable framework for African nations striving to modernize their civil services.

The conference also served as a vital platform for exchanging experiences on how African countries can sustain inclusive growth, advance good governance, and enhance service delivery through technology and institutional reform.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the conference,” H.E. Adem Farah wrote.

The successful conclusion of the summit further cements Addis Ababa’s strategic position as a convening city for Africa’s shared progress and governance transformation.
