
Addis Ababa, June 12, 2025 – A Boeing 787-8 aircraft operated by an Indian airline and carrying 242 passengers en route from Ahmedabad, India to London caught fire during takeoff, according to a report by the BBC.
The incident occurred at Ahmedabad International Airport in western India. Preliminary reports suggest that the plane caught fire shortly after detaching from the runway. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The passenger manifest reportedly included:
- 169 Indian nationals
- 53 British citizens
- 7 Portuguese nationals
- 1 Canadian
- Others from various countries
Footage shared online shows flames engulfing parts of the aircraft. However, as of now, no detailed information has been released regarding casualties or injuries.
