To the Paid Pen and the Cowardly Keyboard Warrior: Stay Out of Somali Region Affairs

By. Prof. Mohamud Ahmed (Cagawayne)

“A man who sells his words for coins may feed his mouth, but he will never nourish his soul.” – Cagaweyne.

You don’t know me. You’ve never read my work. But you’ve been paid to speak about me. And therein lies the tragedy — not for me, but for you.

Behind your screen, behind your falsehoods, behind the desperation to be relevant, lies a darker truth: you do this for a living — harassing strangers for money that was meant for a child’s school fees, for a mother’s medicine, for a father’s hope. That blood-stained coin you chase is the very currency of dishonor. It is shame dressed as service.

Let’s be clear: you are not part of the Somali Region, nor do you speak for it. You are a stranger to its struggles and a parasite to its progress. While the people of the Somali Region rebuild their dreams from the ashes of war, displacement, and political betrayal — you, a shadow figure for hire, try to incite chaos in a place you do not know, and will never belong to.

Peace was not handed to us. It was earned — through sweat, scars, and strategic compromise. Development was not accidental. It was a deliberate defiance of marginalization. You may deny these truths, but you cannot erase them. Roads have been built, hospitals have risen, schools have reopened, and yes — the people of the Somali Region, once silenced and sidelined, now speak with dignity.

So when you scribble defamation in exchange for pocket change, remember this: your lies do not echo here.

We know your handlers. We know who writes your scripts. And we also know this — For your information I am not banned from any party; you were never fit for this region.

To attempt to distort the reality of a region you have never walked except days you collect your ill-gotten deeds, to question people you’ve never known, and to comment on events you do not comprehend — is not journalism. It is moral vandalism.

Before you deposit your next check, ask yourself: Is this lie worth my legacy?

You are advised — respectfully but firmly — to stay out of Somali Region’s politics, its peace, and its future. We did not bleed for your amusement. We did not build for your ridicule. And we will not collapse for your paycheck.

The region is not perfect — no region is. But it is not yours to destroy with keyboard fantasies funded by wounded egos and rejected rebels. The time for false messiahs and coin-driven crusaders has expired.

Go find a new cause. This one is not yours to touch.
